Today is just another bright and beautiful day to go about our various task and mine always starts with some work and a quick check on the garden. This is an approximately gardening week 2 with all my efforts in trying to grown some green veggies here.

To start with i was able to arrest the situation of the lizards that were feasting on my growing Vegetables Seedlings of which they have consumed a larger portion of the germinated veggies. I got some advice from local farmers to disguise the veggies by pouring ashes over them right after watering each morning. That was been practiced ever since and I haven't found any lizards coming to bother the veggies again.

Here is the remaining of the first specie that was nearly destroyed

The second species of veggies here is doing quite well and today makes it about 10days of planting the veggies. I am still hoping that these are quality agric engineered seeds that can be harvested within one month and that in three weeks time I can plug some veggies from the garden to my dinner table

The third specie here is the Jute mallow though it has only scantily germinated and is doing well it looks greener because grasses are fastly filling up the the gaps in between the veggies.

The unfortunate occurrence this morning is how that I have now lost all the three partly germinated fluted pumpkins Seedlings that transplanted. I cannot explain the reason behind this, since I got some quality soil and did everything right. There was no attack on the the seeds unlike the other veggies. It started getting rotten from the tip down to the bottom and now I have to not only look for another seeds but how to germinate, grow and keep some fluted pumpkins here.

Some of the tasks I can do this morning is to clear the Jute mallow and remove ever possible grasses that could affect it.
The rains have been friendly this weekend and the last shower from last night is keeping the garden wet and there is absolute no need for me to wet the place this morning.

I found this baby girl crawling all around the place she isn't shy of the camera and wouldn't pull into her shell even with the shot from the camera.

Having snails fill the compound is a common thing in the raining seasons.
It won't be a difficult thing to grow some snails from here.I don't know how I feel about growing snails yet since they are not like chicken or others.

That's it from me today. Good morning friends.

Sort:

Don't snails feed on those vegetables too? I think they do.

Today, I sent a woman to the market to buy me pumpkin seeds. I want to start growing them too

Snails do, but the speed with they do this is very slow.
Unless they are in large numbers they can't cause much of a harm.

Thanks for stopping by

Thanks for this, I will check it out.
