Hello Hive.

It is yet another day of harvesting beans and I can say that we are a bit satisfied at how much beans we have picked so far. We decided to linger a little longer at the farm to pick more or our beans as there has been some serious rodent attacks on the beans.
In this season it is so glaring to see that even rodents in the bush are very hungry that they can cause so much damage when they feast on anyone's farm

Look at all the empty pods here, this is what rodents have done. They often peel the pods with their teeth and eat up the grains therein. To think that there are so many rodents in the bushes surrounding the farm here you can see how much damage they can cause if we do not hurry up with harvest.
There is no practical way to control these rodents, we can't use chemicals to kill them as that would mean an interference with the wildlife. Our farms are surrounded by some thick bushes which cannot be cleared off either. These bushes harbour rodents that cause havoc to crops.

When I was much younger I used to joke with my dad that he should allow some orphan rodents to feed because they do not have parents 😄😄😂but now that I am more wiser I get angry at whatever damage they cause here. It's difficult to grow some crops and have some rodents feed on them

There are different specie of beans like I have often blogged about in this community. Check out this specie of beans, it a little bit different from what we harvested over the weekends. These specie of beans produce some coiling pods that wraps up like this. There are different specie of beans in our farms.

I was so much carried away with work that I didn't bother to open up the pod to see how the seeds therein looks like.

These specie of beans bears much bigger seeds within it.
You may want to ask how we often different these beans seeds species one from another. Sometimes we use the seeds size for the big and smaller beans while other times it is the color of the beans.
And for beans with same size and color we often use the color of the beans head. It's sprouting head often carry different colors. One is wither black, red, brown and just like that.

We were able to harvest as much as we can today as we are now in a hurry to pick up our grains before the rodents eat up our harvest 😂

This is all that transpired today at the farm as we have now retired to catch up with some rest at home.
