As it's believed that good and healthy food breeds good life and healthy life. But then one can't have good life without good food. When good food is being talked about there's no way one can exclude those that made this to be possible. The thing is if Farmers are not trying so hard to put these things in place there's possibility that a country would be shortage of food. So this is why Farmers in all ramifications should be taking as an integral part of those making existence of country works out.
Availability of food and easy access to food should be one major thing that should be taking serious in any country in the world. Despite there are cogs in the wheel of improving food security in Nigeria due to maybe inadequate of land to explore farming, problem of grazing, lack f find, issue with climate change, natural disasters like erosion, heavy windblow and the likes. These Farmers are still try their best to boost food security in Nigeria. Let's not even talk about the challenges we are facing concerning malnutrition and once a nation or a country couldn't boost their food security, issues like malnutrition is not far-fetched.
How are you involved in boosting the food security of your country?
If you check the historical antecedent of poultry farming in Nigeria, you'd discover that poultry farm is an activity of recent achievement due to the fact that the then Former President of Nigeria in person of Major General Mohd Bihari who don fit to close some major borders then encourage home base food and agriculture. That's where poultry farm got the wings to fly.
After that bold step taking by the former President, lot of people jumped into poultry farm which later became an integral part of economic improvement in Nigeria on business part. Aside that, people were initially castigating the dressed imported Chicken due to the fact that some people believed that most of the imported dressed Chicken were not of age before they were dressed and plus most these chickens were grown with chemicals with could be harmful to human health.
This is one of the reasons why home made chicken was fully embraced even after borders were reopened, the home made poultry farm didn't shift grown to fall back to its old ground. Meaning the home made chicken has fully gained grown. This is one thing to be proud of because I have found myself to be part of Farmers ensuring the improvements of food security in my country.
I rear broiler birds from day old to seven weeks in small brooder cage when they are babies before being moved the bigger pen they are outgrowing the smaller pen.

How well should Farmers be appreciated?
There are different ways Farmers can be appreciated which can be among things I listed below:
One of the things that can be done to appreciate Farmers is to make availability for easy access to loan. When Farmers have access to this loan, this can help to improve Farmers involvement on improving food security in the country. This loan can also help farmer to attempt expansion, just like how I am struggling to rear 100 birds due to lack of space and fund for feed.
Provision of access to land. This is one of the major problem faced by farmers both crop and livestock farmers. If there's availability of land, there will be easy means expand to explore more number and quantity. This is another means to get the Farmers appreciated.

If farmers could have access to good loans especially from the government, it would be a very good thing and food will be surplus.
