Finally, after a very hot and dry summer the rain is coming to the area where we have the farm in Portugal.

We need some rain to get the olives ready to harvest. If everything works as planned, I will travel next Wednesday and will be there for 2,5 weeks to harvest all the olives, prune some of the olive trees and vines and do some work on the house.

Last year we harvested 1 ton of olives which gave us 100 liters of olive oil. We also prune all the trees so it took us quite a while to do all the work. I do not expect to have the same amount of olives due to prunning but hopefully we will get 600 or 700 kilos. I plan to order some labels and nice glass bottles for the oil and sell some of it in the newly created online store.

Everything was pretty dry when I left in the middle of September and I can't wait to see the land green again with the morning dew. I hope I can collect some persimmons and maybe some lemons to take back home. Oranges will probably not be ready yet.

I also plan to add wheels to the solar panel structure I built in the summer so it can be easily moved to catch the sun and build some wood doors for the outside utility cabinet.

We've algo gotten a black/pine plywood Ikea trolley to put the kitcken burner outside in the porch. The idea is to add some protection for the wind on top of the plywood.

In Spain, when you build your house it is common to invite the building crew for lunch. SoA If the weather is nice, I plan to cook some paella for the British brick layers who helped me with the house renovation during this year, as well as some of the friends who also helped. I bought a gas burner and a big pan for up to 10 people as I plan to cook many more times with it in the future.
