Glad to hear you’re recovering! like I told your hubby my wife went through this and they had to remove her gallbladder.
It was strange because she could be in pain and then suddenly it disappeared, depending on where the stones moved, and then the pain would start back up!🙄
Gallstones are very painful!!!😳

Yes the first couple docs I talked to said we didn't need to remove it, and that's my preference. The doc performing the ERCP was not expecting for it to stay in, he described planning to put in the shunt in preparation for removal and I said I want to keep it. He shifted, okay then, we won't place that and here we go. After the ERCP then came in another doctor encouraging removal and wanting to do it today, but I said I wanted to try lifestyle changes first. Being mainstream medical she somewhat poopooed lifestyle changes but I've read plenty of people online having success there.
I'm not completely opposed to considering to m removal, but, I feel God gave me a gallbladder and I need a compelling reason to remove it, not just because it's routine and I might have more stones in the future. Now if I start having repeats of all of this then I may consider it. But it was overwhelming in the ER contemplating such a huge life changing surgery without really any warning, that I prefer to consider it on my own terms. I'm not a fan of slicing and dicing without damn good reason. 😝 I think medical field often likes to present their one and only typical solution because it's what they know. Which is understandable.
I know many who said they are doing great without their gallbladder and are glad they got it out. And many who wish they had not agreed to have it removed. It's so highly unique to the individual... But our medical system likes one size fits all 😝
I very much agree with with you!!👍😀
Honestly I thought they stopped removing gallbladders because of the micro surgery that they have now days!
They told Liz that once they remove the gallbladder, you might have trouble digesting certain foods, so keeping it is definitely a benefit in that regard!!👍😇
Yes very glad to be feeling much improved this evening with more solid food too. Pasta easy to eat!
That sounds good take care of yourself!👍😊
