THE CHURCH OF CHRIST IN TIMES OF PANDEMIC

Greetings Christian Community, brothers of faith in Jesus. Grace and Peace.

There are innumerable challenges that the Church of Christ has gone through throughout history; discrimination, attacks, persecution, attack on sound doctrine, however, the doors of evil have not prevailed against it. why?

Because the Church is the Column and Bulwark of truth, because it is God himself who supports it with his strong hand.

so that if I delay, you will know how you should conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, column and bulwark of truth.
1 timothy 3:15

According to the previous quote, we can affirm with certainty that the Church of the Living God has a "leading" role in society, even if it does not accept it.

SALT AND LIGHT

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt vanishes, with what will it be salty? It is no longer good for anything, but to be cast out and trampled under foot by men. You are world's light; a city sitting on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither does a light come on and be placed under a bushel, but on the candlestick, and it illuminates all who are at home. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5: 13-16

The pandemic generated by COVID-19 has affected our relationships because, in a broken world like ours, relationships have always suffered from the effects of the fall. The coronavirus is just a reminder that sin has brought social barriers that result in mismatches in our sociability (envy, anger, irresponsibility), idolatry of relationships (dating, work, family) and lack of satisfaction in these relationships (discontent).

The church is called to make a difference, to be Light in the midst of darkness and Salt, to preserve Christian values in any circumstance that occurs in life.

ATTITUDES OF THE CHURCH IN TIMES OF PANDEMIC

ANNOUNCE THE GOSPEL OF GRACE

At the beginning of the quarantine I saw with concern that the church in a certain sense was isolated from society, precisely because of the rewarding order and the urgency of announcing the gospel to a society that needs it. I said within myself, how many evangelistic crusades will be canceled!

However, we can use other means to fulfill the great commission. Social networks, somehow, I consider a great door that God has created to fulfill the order of Jesus: ANNOUNCE THE GOSPEL TO ALL CREATURES ... (Mark 16:15)

OBEY THE AUTHORITY

Submit everyone to the higher authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been established by God.
Romans 13: 1

PRAYER FOR THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH

I urge, above all, that requests, prayers, requests and thanksgivings be made for all men;
1 Timothy 2: 1

HELP YOUR NEIGHBOR

But whoever has the goods of this world and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God dwell in him?
1 John 3:17

TAKE THE MOST OUT OF SHARING WITH YOUR FAMILY

And these words that I am sending you today will be on your heart; and you will repeat them to your children, and you will speak of them being in your house, and walking on the road, and at bedtime, and when you get up.
Deuteronomy 6: 6-7

There is nothing more pleasant in this life than to share in family and live in the love of God, together and in harmony.

The church will always have opportunities to demonstrate God's love in a society that needs it so much.
