Erik no sabía qué hacer con su vida, pues él la consideraba demasiado normal, ya no la encontraba estimulante ni interesante, no, mejor dicho, él mismo no se encontraba interesante, sabia prácticamente lo más básico para su edad, y los talentos que él creía tener cuando era más joven no los desarrollo. A la edad de 18 años no sabía cuál era su camino a seguir, solo sabía que tenía que seguir porque quería encontrar eso que le gustara. Cada vez que le preguntaban él decía 'Por un lado, no quiero perder las esperanzas de encontrar mi camino; por el otro, no quiero perder el tiempo en algo que no me gusta'.
Erik did not know what to do with his life, because he considered it too normal, he no longer found it stimulating or interesting, no, better said, he himself did not find it interesting, he knew practically the most basic things for his age, and the talents he thought he had when he was younger he did not develop them. At the age of 18 he did not know what his path was to follow, he only knew that he had to follow because he wanted to find what he liked. Whenever he was asked he would say 'On the one hand, I don't want to give up hope of finding my way; on the other hand, I don't want to waste my time on something I don't like'.
Paso un año, en ese año Erik se inscribió en varios cursos, de música, de ingeniería, de informática, de arte… el de arte y el de música fue el que más le gusto, pues esto le animo a aprender a entender estas demostraciones de arte y de sentimientos, además de que con estos conocimientos se relacionó con una variedad de personas que tenían personalidades algo interesantes para él. Sí, le intereso este camino del arte.
A year passed, in that year Erik enrolled in several courses, music, engineering, computer science, art ... art and music was the one he liked the most, as this encouraged him to learn to understand these demonstrations of art and feelings, plus with this knowledge he interacted with a variety of people who had somewhat interesting personalities for him. Yes, he was interested in this path of art.
Talento en el dibujo tenía un poco, en la música se desenvolvía más o menos gracias a unas pocas frases y composiciones que hacía, esto lo animo, se esforzó en desarrollarse en el área del dibujo, y asistía a talleres y concursos de música para observar, preguntaba lo que no entendía a los responsables o buscaba vídeos por internet, tanto así que muchos ya lo reconocían como el chico que dibujaba retratos o el que asistía siempre en los concursos de música y composición a dar ánimo. Cuando le preguntaban él respondía que disfrutaba gastar su tiempo así.
Talent in drawing he had a little, in music he was more or less developed thanks to a few phrases and compositions he made, this encouraged him, he made an effort to develop in the area of drawing, and attended workshops and music contests to observe, he asked what he did not understand to those responsible or looked for videos on the internet, so much so that many already recognized him as the boy who drew portraits or the one who always attended the music and composition contests to give encouragement. When asked, he replied that he enjoyed spending his time like that.
No se sentía aburrido, tampoco se sentía estresado, Erik sabía que no estaba obligado a seguir por este camino, que bien podía ingresar a la universidad y estudiar una carrera que se le diera bien y conseguir un empleo normal, pero no quería, le gustaba hacer pautas con compañeros de curso para dibujar o para tocar algunas músicas o cantar algunos versos en plazas, e incluso pensó seriamente ingresar en una carrera universitaria que tuviera que ver con esa área solo para tener el derecho de decir seriamente a donde fuera ‘soy un artista profesional’.
He didn't feel bored, he didn't feel stressed either, Erik knew that he wasn't obliged to follow this path, that he could well enter university and study a career that he was good at and get a normal job, but he didn't want to, he liked to make patterns with classmates to draw or to play some music or sing some verses in squares, and he even seriously thought about entering a university career that had to do with that area just to have the right to seriously say wherever he went 'I am a professional artist'.
No todo fue bien, el recuerdo que más lo marco fue el de un concurso donde estaba a punto de ganar cuando lo acusaron de plagiar una canción, él sabía que esto era un tema serio, pues esa acusación puede dejarle una muy mala impresión a los demás y dañar el camino que él apenas había empezado. Fue un caso y una acusación sería que se volvió estúpida cuando se aclaró, la situación fue que un personaje lo acusaba basado en un vídeo popular que vio en internet y creía que Erik se quería adueñar de la canción de ese vídeo sin dar reconocimiento a ese artista profesional, o mejor dicho, que Erik que no tenía educación musical quería ganar a costa del trabajo profesional de otros. Cuando Erik y sus compañeros se dieron cuenta de que por eso lo acusaban, se rieron mucho y se burlaron de ese personaje por su incapacidad de averiguar todo antes de acusar. Erik aclaró que esa canción la escribió él, y el protagonista de ese vídeo es él mismo, como prueba mostró otros vídeos donde sí se veía su rostro y llamo a la profesora que lo oriento en la corrección de la canción. Aun así, ese personaje no quedo contento, pues el ridículo que le hicieron al reírse fue una humillación para él, por lo que le declaro a Erik que no debía creerse mucho, pues así como él se creía bueno solo con saber lo básico había demasiados y que no le extrañaría que él se quedara en ese montón.
Not everything went well, the memory that most marked him was that of a contest where he was about to win when he was accused of plagiarizing a song, he knew that this was a serious matter, because that accusation can leave a very bad impression to others and damage the path that he had just started. It was a case and a serious accusation that became stupid when it became clear, the situation was that a character was accusing him based on a popular video he saw on the internet and believed that Erik wanted to take ownership of the song in that video without giving recognition to that professional artist, or rather, that Erik who had no musical education wanted to earn at the expense of the professional work of others. When Erik and his colleagues realized that this was why they were accusing him, they laughed a lot and made fun of that character for his inability to find out everything before accusing. Erik clarified that the song was written by him, and the protagonist of the video is himself, as proof he showed other videos where his face could be seen and called the teacher who guided him in the correction of the song. Even so, this character was not happy, because the ridicule he was made to laugh was a humiliation for him, so he told Erik that he should not believe much, because just as he thought he was good just knowing the basics there were too many and he would not be surprised if he stayed in that pile.
Erik se lo tomo en serio, a pesar de que le dijeron que ese personaje solo estaba molesto y envidioso, Erik le dio toda la razón, pues él estaba consciente de que le faltaba conocimiento y que así como él había muchísimos chicos y chicas, por lo que tomo la decisión de profesionalizarse, ya lo consideraba su camino, después de todo, trabajar y desarrollar su música y sus dibujos le da un gusto enorme, entonces ¿qué mejor que seguir trabajando así y no trabajar en algo que no le guste?
Erik took it seriously, even though he was told that this character was just annoyed and envious, Erik was completely right, because he was aware that he lacked knowledge and that there were many boys and girls like him, so he made the decision to become a professional, he considered it his path, after all, working and developing his music and his drawings gives him great pleasure, so what better than to continue working like this and not work in something he doesn't like?
Se tomó su tiempo, pasaron 4 años, en esos cuatro años se esforzó en la universidad de música, aprendió de todo un poco, desarrollo algunos temas que había dejado de lado y gano algo de fama en su círculo social, siguió participando en concursos, y sí, no los gano todos, pero conoció a gente talentosa y emprendedora así como también conoció a algunos gruñones y otros desvergonzados que querían retrasarlo. A la edad de 25 años ya era un profesional en su área, tenía a su equipo y le gustaba pasar por los concursos y presentaciones, también apoyaba la apertura de talleres y demás para transmitir el conocimiento del dibujo y música, él se consideraba un completo artista y eso le alegraba lo suficiente su vida diaria.
He took his time, 4 years passed, in those four years he worked hard in the music university, he learned a little bit of everything, he developed some themes that he had left aside and gained some fame in his social circle, he continued participating in contests, and yes, he did not win them all, but he met talented and enterprising people as well as some grumpy and other shameless people who wanted to slow him down. At the age of 25 he was already a professional in his area, he had his team and he liked to go through contests and presentations, he also supported the opening of workshops and others to transmit the knowledge of drawing and music, he considered himself a complete artist and that made his daily life happy enough.
