When it comes to teaching people how to do something, I was often the one who would sit down and be taught in the end. 😄
A close friend of mine once came to me explaining how she could improve her writing skills. Sometimes I feel so inspired to write, but whenever I do, I don't really like my grammar and spelling, she said.
I was just looking at her like an idiot until she tapped me to talk to her. I decided to help her by referring her to Hive, then I asked her to download a dictionary, sign up on Thesaurus, and write every day and send her writings to me on WhatsApp so I could correct them.
I was just giving her the impression that I was helping, but inside I was shaking my head because I easily get fed up when someone disturbs me with questions.
After showing her how to use Hive, the problem started. This girl wants to remove my brain from the back and put it in my hand, lol.
"Tee, help me check if my first line is okay like that," she would ask.
"Oh, just make it more descriptive," I responded.
"Tee baby, I've completed the whole story. Could you cross-check it for me? Dear, can I use AI to rewrite it? Tee, I've been publishing for over a week now, and I haven't made any money yet."
Imagine, even I haven't earned 1 kobo since I started Hive, and now you, a newcomer, want to cash out quickly, I thought.
The questions go on and on every day, and it got to a point where anything she said, I would respond, "Okay," "Oh, that's fantastic," "No, don't do that yet," "Of course, we should try the method," and so forth.
I'm sure if there were a machine that answered people's questions, it would run out of battery every minute.
I don't really feel bad about having someone to train, but the questions sometimes drain my energy. If I ever have a newbie to train next time, both of us will learn with AI. 😄
(The pictures are taking by me)
Thanks for reading.
I think I can cope with these questions but when it comes to basic knowledge about phone, like asking me how to copy and paste or how to crop a photo, they won't see me again 😅
