If you asked me which teams are the best right now, there's no doubt that the Boston Celtics and San Antonio Spurs are worth mentioning. As proof, just take a look at the current reality of both teams, which boast a 9-1 streak in their last games. The Celtics are coming off a couple of big wins against formidable opponents (the Lakers and Suma), while the Spurs are coming off a commanding victory over the Eastern Conference leaders on Monday (114-103 over the Pistons).

It's no longer just about the Thunder or the Nuggets, let alone dreaming about the Lakers or the Golden State Warriors, who, amid doubts and uncertainty, are clearly falling a little further behind. The Celtics and Spurs are looking better and better, more like teams that don't depend on the quality of a single star player. While Boston longs for the return of Jayson Tatum, as a team they have managed to do well with Jaylen Brown, Payton Pritchard, and Derrick White himself sharing leadership roles that make the team look good overall. A side note here on the performance of the Celtics' point guard (speaking of Pritchard) who, against the Los Angeles Lakers, gave a true masterclass that the opponent simply could not stop.

Victor Wembanyama... and who else? Perhaps that was a somewhat empty question that at the beginning of the season seemed to highlight the lack of other key pieces for this team to take flight in its game. In my opinion, Mitchell Johnson's work has been commendable, with players gradually making a name for themselves through excellent teamwork. I still believe and think that De'Aaron Fox has the potential to live up to the expectations that dazzled many fans and followers when he was in Sacramento.

The Denver Nuggets and Toronto Raptors are tough opponents for the Celtics and Spurs, respectively, as they continue to fuel a streak that fuels hopes of seeing these teams as strong contenders for the remainder of the second half of the season and already earning the label of favorites in the playoffs. A final between the Celtics and the Spurs? There is still a long way to go, but what is clear is that both teams are doing things right.
While winning streaks are not usually perfect, they do determine the consistency and quality of those who know how to achieve them. 🔥🏀
