RE: Croatia Didn't Lose to England They Couldn't Cope With Them

in Sportsblock • 11 days ago

To be honest I didn't watch it live. Saw the scoreline this morning and thought, "That cannot be right".

But after reading this breakdown, it actually makes perfect sense.

Croatia looked absolutely shell shocked. England did more than outscore them – they strangled them. 64% possession, 10 shots to 1 on target? That’s no game. That there’s a clinic.

Bellingham was all over the place. Kane’s movement opened up space. Saka was deadly. Even Morgan Rogers made an impact from the bench.

But you are right to be grounded. Earlier they lost 3-2 to Spain at Wembley. The real test is if they can dominate possession against a team that actually knows how to defend?

But for now? This is England’s best performance under Tuchel by a country mile. Croatia were poor, there’s no sugarcoating that, but England made them look even worse.

Three Lions starting to look dangerous.

Exactly bro 😂 That “that cannot be right” reaction is understandable because 7–0 is one of those scorelines you have to see twice.
And I agree, the Spain game is still the bigger test. Croatia gave England plenty of room to play, but Spain won't be that generous. If England can control a game against Spain the way they did this one, then I think we can start talking about a genuinely different England under Tuchel. For now, though, they absolutely enjoyed themselves in Croatia. 😅
