Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. FC Barcelona's official account has reported on X that first team player Pablo Gavi will be out of action for the next 4-5 months after undergoing surgery on his knee. It was the same knee where he had an ACL injury, which took him out for over a season, and now that same issue is not an ACL problem, but that knee had some issues after a training session some weeks back. It was reported that the area on his knee began to swell, which made the club medical team conduct various tests to determine the problem with his knee.
It was concluded that the Spanish midfielder will have to undergo surgery on the knee, which took place yesterday, and now everything depends on how Gavi will recover in the next 4-5 months. Honestly, I feel sorry for Gavi because since the ACL injury, he has not had it easy as there is always a precautionary measure when it involves him and Hansi Flick has said it a couple of times that he doesn't want to rush Gavi and will take it slow with the player to avoid issues like the one that has just recently happened to the player.
Gavi did not get much playing time last season, but showed promise when he was on the pitch with the rest of the team. During the preseason, he was incredible, and I thought that he was 100 per cent back and would help the team this season, but it's not the case, as he will be out for half of the season, which means he will not step on the pitch for the rest of this year. It is a real blow to the team and the club that Gavi is going through this injury phase again, but everyone is optimistic and is being supportive of the player during this time.
Gavi is a fighter and I am sure he will be back on his feet soon to help the team. Injuries can be a huge problem in the career of a player if they keep recurring, and most of the time, most players fail to return to 100 per cent after experiencing severe injuries to their bodies. It happened with Coutinho during his time at Barcelona, and Ansu Fati, who is currently on loan to AS Monaco in Ligue 1 for the rest of the season. Ansu Fati, who was a bright player on the pitch and a success in Messi's number ten jersey, could not get back to 100 per cent at the club because of the recurring injuries he faced.
Today, he is not even looked at as the main star of the team, as that attention has been shifted to Lamine Yamal, who is doing great with the club. These few examples just show how injuries can be demeaning to a player's career and can affect them psychologically. I just hope it is not the case with Gavi and hopefully we will see him come back stronger than ever next year. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
