Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. In my last post, I mentioned the questionable incident that occurred during the UCL match between FC Barcelona and Chelsea last Tuesday, specifically the red card that Ronald Araujo received in the first half of the match. This is the third time that Ronald Araujo has put the team in a difficult situation in a crucial match for Barcelona and it is unacceptable at this point. Ronald Araujo had the same incident under Xavi Hernandez against PSG in the Champions League, which Barcelona would have won if that incident hadn't occurred in that match.

This time again, against Chelsea, the Uruguayan picked up a red card in a crucial game that was going to actually define if Barcelona placed in the top eight of the Champions League phase table. It just shows that the Uruguayan has learnt nothing from his past mistakes that got him booked red in crucial matches with the club. Gundogan talked about this situation after the PSG game and said Araujo didn't feel remorse for costing the team in the crucial stage of the Champions League, and I remembered many Barcelona fans came for Gundogan as they weren't happy he threw his teammate under the bus.

The tension reduced after both players later talked, and Xavi also called things into order, but with this recent mistake again from Ronald Araujo, I believe many Barcelona fans owe Gundogan an apology for what he said that season. Ronald Araujo has definitely not learnt from his past mistakes, and this is not how a captain should act because how does he want to lead the team if he can't learn from his mistakes and improve his performance on the pitch? It was a painful moment watching the referee hand out that second yellow card, which resulted in a red. It just felt like the whole PSG scenario over again.

Ronald Araujo has yet to apologise on his social media platforms, and from verified sources, his agent came to request permission for the player to take some time off to work on his mental health because he has not been the same since that game. It is the best thing for Araujo at this period as he needs to be mentally fit before entering the pitch again. There are a lot of Barcelona fans who won't want him to be sold, but I don't agree because I still think Ronald Araujo is a solid player. As much as there are bad moments Ronald Araujo has had with the club, there are still incredible moments he has given, and a good example will be the winning goal he scored against Girona this season.

This should be a wake-up call for Ronald Araujo, and this time, he should learn from this mistake and critically improve in his decision-making on the pitch going forward into the season. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
