Another Disappointing Result From Liverpool

Another weekend, another Liverpool drama in the Premier League, and I am already getting tired of this drama unfolding in the club this season. Last night, Liverpool drew away from home to Leeds United in the Premier League. This match was already a win for the Reds. Still, somehow the team conceded two goals after going two goals up against Leeds United. Even when the team got their lead back by scoring the fifth goal of the match they still conceded a late goal from Leeds United again to bring the scoreline to 3-3 at the sound of the final whistle.

The match last night has to be one of the most annoying games I have watched all season with Liverpool, because what was the defence doing that they conceded three goals at the hands of Leeds United? Konate has been a shadow of himself alongside Virgil Van Dijk because I don't understand what the two of them are doing at the back line this season. The last time the team kept a clean sheet was last weekend against West Ham United and that is because West Ham were down to ten men and have been horrible this season.

The win against West Ham made me believe that the team is on the right track to get back on form, and again another setback happened during the week as the Reds drew to Sunderland. This weekend the same thing happened again with Leeds. Everyone on the team should be blamed for the draw last night, especially Arne Slot, who, for unknown reasons, has decided to bench Salah for the past three matches now this season.

Mohammed Salah has come out to give his take on the situation, which I will analyse in my next post. It has been shown clearly that Arne Slot is already losing the dressing room gradually because you can't, as a manager, have issues with your player, especially if he is the captain of the team, which could have a negative impact on the team. There needs to be a change in Liverpool's defence, like I have been saying so far in my post. The board needs to get a new defender in the January transfer window, which should be the priority of the board now, because I doubt Liverpool will make the top four with the defence set up we have currently in the team.

Konate will probably sign a new deal with the club since Real Madrid has taken their eyes off the defender but it doesn't mean the board should be lackadaisical about getting a new defender. There hasn't been any defender linked to the club yet, which I am surprised by, but hopefully it changes soon. Liverpool's next match will be on Tuesday against Inter Milan, and frankly, I am not confident that the team will go into Inter Milan's home stadium to secure three points. If anything, a draw will be a good result for this Liverpool side currently this season. So that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
