It Keeps On Getting Worse For The Reds

Another weekend of disappointment for Liverpool fans as the team lost 3-0 at home to Nottingham Forest. It's becoming frustrating to watch this team play every week because I don't understand what Arne Slot and the squad are doing on the pitch. They shouldn't come out to play but rather to drop a disaster class each weekend. The International break is over, so I was expecting the team to improve, as not everyone went from International duties, and Slot had enough time with his staff to analyse the squad performances so far, find the issues and create solutions to improve the squad.

It was the opposite on Saturday as the Reds got slapped three goals by a struggling Nottingham Forest, who just signed a new manager this season. When I saw the lineup, I had a lot of questions about why Szoboszlai was playing as the Right Back until I found out that Conor Bradley was not included in the squad due to picking up a muscle injury, and Jeremine Frimpong was also out due to injury. Honestly, Jeremine Frimpong has not impressed me since he joined Liverpool this summer and I am beginning to question if Liverpool made the right choice signing the Dutchman last summer.

It has been from one injury to another and thankfully, Szoboszlai has been able to handle that role since both players are out, but this has limited the Hungarian from being properly involved in the attack. Szoboszlai is a solid midfielder and knows how to impact a match when he is playing in the midfield area. I am not the manager, but Arne should have used Gomez in that area and put Szoboszlai in the midfield, and this is one of the reasons I was sceptical about Liverpool letting Quansah leave for Bayern Leverkusen during the summer window. Conor Bradley needs to recover quickly and get back with the squad and I doubt he will be available for Liverpool's Champions League fixture this week.

The defence is the shocking part because it is easily penetrable, as I don't understand what Virgil Van Dijk and Konate are doing at the defence this season. Liverpool should have done whatever it took to bring in Marc Guehi last summer window, as it would be easy for Arne Slot to rotate the defence, and whoever is not at their best will be on the bench. This is what the board needs to take into consideration going into the January transfer market. There should be priority in signing a defender as that is the position that needs filling in the squad since Giovanni will be out till next season due to the ACL injury.

Arne Slot and the team need to turn it around because it's becoming horrible to watch the team play this badly, and to make matters worse, Liverpool is in 11th place in the league tables. I can't remember seeing this club not being in the top five spot in the league, but this season it has become a reality. Arne Slot has to do better, and I think the management hasn't started putting pressure on Slot because of the league title he won with the team last season, but their patience might run out soon. So that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.

You are right, there is no sugar coating it,they just have to go back to their winning ways,if they still want to contend for the Trophy.

From the look of things, they are surely going to shop for a defender this coming January transfer window, cos Kanote and Djik are struggling with form, they look burnt out,I must say.
It is really sad 😢 seeing a star studded team like Liverpool struggling.

The players need to step up, their pressing and duels have been slack, and they're conceding easy goals from long balls and second balls.

I don't want to make this post too long, there other factors bedeviling them.I hope they bounce back. Thanks for the update @nonsowrites
