One of Klopp's impacts while he was at the club was promoting academic players into the first-team over his time at the club. Apart from FC Barcelona has a great academy and gives their young players a chance to play in the first team which we have seen over two decades or more as players like Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Puyol, Pique, Messi and many others came from La Masia and put their names on the history of books.
It is rare to see other top European clubs bring in a lot of their academic players into the first team, and most times, these young player gets sold to other clubs, where some become top stars while some struggle alone in the line. Klopp was invested in the Liverpool academy, which is why we see players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones, Quansah, and Konate are all academic players from Liverpool who Klopp integrated into the first team, and are doing well at the club.
This is what Arnie Slot is enjoying today because Klopp has already done the groundwork, while Slot is utilizing the resources left from him by Klopp. At times, it is important for a club to look within their academy before heading into the market to splash millions of euros on a player, and later, the players don't meet up to the standard wanted by the club, which is what is happening now with Nunez. Nunez is likely to leave the club in the coming summer as Slot has expressed his dissatisfaction with the player on the pitch to the media, and as reported by Fabrizio, the Uruguayan will leave at the end of the season.
Speaking on departure, Trent Alexander-Arnold is likely to leave Liverpool this summer as a free agent since his contract is expected to end at the end of the season. There have been talks with the Englishman by the club's sporting director to extend Trent Alexander-Arnold's contract as the club is happy with the Englishman and wants him to stay for many years at the club, but Arnold is still adamant about signing a new deal with his boyhood club.
Real Madrid has shown interest in signing Arnold for free this summer. It has been reported by Fabrizio that the European giant is watching the situation with Arnold and is ready to convince the Englishman to join the club with their project plans, plus a good salary for Arnold. Trent Alexander- Arnold thinking about departure has to do with Klopp's resignation as Liverpool manager because I doubt Trent would want to leave if Klopp was still at the club.
There will be a lot of attention during the summer on Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Englishman will have to make a decision on if he wants to stay at the club or accept Real Madrid's offer and move to Spain. In my honest opinion, Arnold's mind is already outside the club, and I doubt he will continue with Liverpool next season. Quansah plays the position of Arnold and has been decent since he came into the first team, so he should cover that role if Trent leaves in the summer, but nothing is certain yet as we wait till the summer transfer window for everything to be cleared up.
