Could There Ever Be A Balance Of Power Between The Men and Women

Matriarchy - What are your thoughts on matriarchy? What benefits do you find in matriarchy? Do you think we will ever return to having more matriarchies than patriarchies? What would we need to generate a transition from patriarchy to matriarchy?

Hello, amazing #qc-community, how are you doing? Trust fine. Welcome to my blog.

Matriarchy means women being in a higher percentage of leadership positions. This would mean women being market leaders, union leaders, leaders in the House of Representatives and the Senate, using my country of origin as an example. It also means women becoming speakers, governors, and even presidents. On the other hand, patriarchy means men dominating leadership roles in all cadres of the decision-making process.

The benefits of Matriarchy are not far-fetched; the initiatives, like the think tank, will work out well, women helping women. Less corruption, equity, fairness, diversity, control, inclusion, and finally empathy will be the order of the day. Starting from our different families, women are known to be strong, and the ability to manipulate them when they are in a position of authority is minute.

In my country, we have only four women in the House of Assembly seats, and compared to the seven women who are presidents in a world of over 195 countries, it shows that just about 3.5% of women hold powerful leadership roles worldwide.

Conversely, I can say that men in leadership are 96.5%. Proving that women are still in a struggle to secure leadership positions. Even when they eventually do, their rights are sometimes violated, and some of them face intimidation and threats, just like the recent scenario in the house of assembly of my country.

However, returning to the Matriarchy would mean a serious transformation and change in the socio-economic system. Starting from the family, school, religious activity, and society at large. The political stream will be the largest to be hit. Constant awareness, change of ideology, and complete acceptance by all stakeholders are required to make this happen. There will be a tumultuous resistance by the male folk. This is because most men believe that women reason one way.

One day, in such a discussion about gender equality and the need for women to be given a chance in leadership roles. A male gave funny feedback that if you allow a woman to be the president of a country, she might wake up angry one day and destroy the men.

In conclusion, I do not think a complete transition from patriarchy to matriarchy is possible now, but achieving a situation of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is feasible, where everybody, irrespective of color or race, is given a voice and is allowed to thrive in society.
