Tenía tiempo que no publicaba en este espacio. He estado ocupado y eso es bueno. Por un lado, comencé a dar clases, y por el otro, he distraído la ansiedad con lecturas.
Sin embargo, he descuidado un poco este espacio y la escritura en general, así que trataré de ponerme al día y organizarme mejor para variar un poco mi contenido.
Sé que en ocasiones anteriores he dicho y he hablado sobre las cosas que quiero hacer. Lo sigo intentando, sigo escribiendo a pesar de todo, y estoy organizándome mejor para ser más constante en la creación de mi contenido.
Sé que no soy el único al que le pasan estás cosas: bloqueo mental, desconexiones, las ocupaciones diarias... Y todos buscamos la manera de poder seguir adelante. Hubo un momento en el que pensé en dejar de escribir, pero esa llama sigue allí, no se apaga, y mis dedos se mueven y teclean, escribo para sentirme bien, y aprovecho este espacio para compartir lo que escribo, lo que pienso y lo que leo.
Hablando de lecturas, sigo con la saga de La Fundación, de Isaac Asimov, y puedo decir que él supo plasmar en la ciencia ficción los diversos problemas que afronta la humanidad. Los problemas raciales, culturales, económicos, políticos y ambientales están plasmados en toda esta saga.
Eso demuestra el poder de la ficción. Él no está escribiendo exclusivamente sobre Trantor, está escribiendo sobre la humanidad en general, de nuestros prejuicios, nuestros miedos y ambiciones.
Otro libro que terminé hace poco fue La sonrisa de Caterina de Carlo Vecce, donde el autor ficcionaliza sobre la madre de Leonardo Da Vinci. Es interesante las diferentes miradas narrativas que se plasman sobre las diferentes culturas mediterráneas, sobre la política de aquella época y en especial, sobre la esclavitud.
El autor, al final, reflexiona sobre este problema que viene desde los orígenes del tiempo y lo actualiza. ¿Cómo puede la humanidad tratar así a sus propios congéneres? También muestra cómo se percibe a otras culturas como inferiores a la cultura dominante.
En El infinito en un junco Irene Vallejo escribía que los romanos convertían en esclavos a todos aquellos que conquistaban, pero que a algunos, sobre todo a los griegos, y más si eran filósofos o escritores, los trataban de forma especial,privilegiada en cuánto a los demás esclavos, y los usaban para que escribieran o tradujeran, o bien para enseñarles griego a sus hijos.
En el caso de Caterina, tenía algo que la hacía especial, y recibió el favor de todos aquellos con los que se cruzaban en el camino. Y uno puede cuestionar el concepto moderno de la palabra Libertad al saber que todavía, en nuestros tiempos, se sigue usando a seres humanos como simples objetos, como propiedad de otros que pueden tratarlos como se les dé la gana. Para aquellos que deseen leerlo, es muy recomendable.

I hadn't posted in this space for a while. I've been busy and that's a good thing. For one thing, I started teaching classes, and for another, I've distracted anxiety with readings.

I know on previous occasions I've said and talked about the things I want to do. I'm still trying, I'm still writing regardless, and I'm getting better organized to be more consistent in my content creation.
I know I'm not the only one to whom these things happen: mental block, disconnections, daily busyness.... And we all look for ways to keep going. There was a moment when I thought about giving up writing, but that flame is still there, it doesn't go out, and my fingers move and type, I write to feel good, and I take advantage of this space to share what I write, what I think and what I read.
Speaking of reading, I continue with the saga of The Foundation, by Isaac Asimov, and I can say that he knew how to capture in science fiction the various problems facing humanity. Racial, cultural, economic, political and environmental problems are captured throughout this saga.
That shows the power of fiction. He is not writing exclusively about Trantor, he is writing about humanity in general, about our prejudices, our fears and ambitions.
Another book I recently finished was Carlo Vecce's Caterina's Smile, where the author fictionalizes about Leonardo Da Vinci's mother. It is interesting the different narrative views on the different Mediterranean cultures, on the politics of that time and especially on slavery.
The author, at the end, reflects on this problem that comes from the origins of time and brings it up to date: how can humanity treat its own fellow human beings in this way? He also shows how other cultures are perceived as inferior to the dominant culture.

Interesante recomendaciones de lectura. Tocan temas que desde que el mundo es mundo siempre han estado entre nosotros, como la esclavitud, los juicios a los demás, las injusticias, las clases sociales que solo no los hemos inventado nosotros, pues todos somos iguales en nuestras necesidades independientemente de dónde seamos. Si solo entendieramos esto y tuviéramos más empatía que diferente fuera todo.
Por otra parte, es una muy buena terapia escribir, no desistas sigue adelante, saca afuera eso que piensas y sientes que siempre abra alguien que te lea y se identifique contigo, como yo, un abrazo🤗💕🌻
