Photographing dancers on stage at a wedding celebration can easily be difficult. First, good moments only happen in a matter of seconds. When aiming the camera, there are obstacles that occur. One of the obstacles that most often occurs is passing guests.

Another obstacle, when there is an interesting pose from the dancer on stage, the photographer is at an unsupportive angle, for example because there is a pole in front or other props. Usually, at wedding parties, there is no special place for the photographer.

That's what we experienced photographing the performance of dancers from Sanggar Nahrasiyah at a party in Medan, North Sumatra. When photographing dancers, there are obstacles that make the photos imperfect.

In this photo parade, some were taken by my students and some were taken by me myself while explaining how to take them to the students. From the start, I explained several obstacles that occurred, but when I was in the field, there were many unexpected obstacles, and I asked that this be used as a challenge in the next shooting session.[]
