Hello everyone
Thailand had officially entered the rainy season, and it seemed to rain almost every day. Today, I had an appointment with a friend to visit a new café near Kamala Beach. We planned to meet at around 1:30 p.m. It had been raining since the morning, but luckily, the rain stopped just in time for our appointment.
I drove to my friend's house to pick her up since the café wasn't far from her place. The café, called "Baanrai I Talay," was situated on a high hill overlooking Kamala Beach. When we arrived, we were greeted with a stunning view of the beach below. The rain had cleared the air, and everything looked fresh and vibrant.
"Baanrai I Talay" café has only been open for a few days, but it has already received a great response from customers, thanks to the power of social media. My friends and I decided to avoid coming on holiday because we knew it would be extremely crowded. Instead, we chose a weekday for our visit, hoping for a quieter experience. However, even on a weekday, the café was bustling with customers.
"Baanrai I Talay" is designed in a charming farmhouse style, constructed with wood, and nestled on a hill surrounded by trees. The design blends seamlessly with nature, preserving the environment. The café offers a variety of drinks, bakery goods, and food. As we approached the entrance, we were greeted by a beautiful triangular wooden gate, decorated with numerous pieces of wood, creating a stunning first impression. Despite the crowd, the serene atmosphere and thoughtful design made our visit memorable.
When you walk inside "Baanrai I Talay," you are immediately greeted by a food ordering counter on your side. Next to it, there's a bakery cabinet filled with a tempting array of delicious baked goods. We ordered our drinks and bakery items first, then looked for a place to sit. Today, there was enough space for us to find seats, but it was still quite busy.
After placing our order, we took some time to walk around and soak in the atmosphere. The café also features a shop selling a variety of handmade souvenirs, supporting local artisans, and providing jobs for people in the community. This thoughtful addition not only enhances the charm of the café but also contributes positively to the local economy.
"Baanrai I Talay" offers several different areas for customers to choose from. There are air-conditioned rooms for those who prefer to stay cool, as well as an open-air outside zone designed like a high bar, providing stunning views of Kamala Beach. The café is quite large, accommodating many customers at once. Despite its size, it was so popular that day that most of the tables were occupied.
We finally secured a table outside with a view of Kamala Beach. This corner turned out to be an excellent spot, offering a perfect combination of scenic beauty and a relaxing atmosphere.
After a while, the waiter brought our drinks and bakery items to the table. Of course, my drink, a matcha latte, was my favorite. Along with it, we had a bright yellow lemon cake that was beautifully decorated and very delicious. We started eating, and savoring the delightful flavors while enjoying the beautiful view of Kamala Beach.
The lemon cake had just the right amount of sweetness, not overpowering but perfectly balanced. As I took a bite, I savored the soft and smooth texture of the cake. Each mouthful was a delightful combination of tangy lemon flavor and the subtle sweetness of the cake. It was a treat for the taste buds, complemented perfectly by the serene ambiance and breathtaking view of Kamala Beach.
After satisfying our hunger, my friend and I decided to explore the café once more. It was quite expansive, offering plenty of space to wander. We ventured downstairs, where we found another beautifully decorated area. Here, the environment was kept as natural as possible, with large trees preserved rather than cut down. The ambiance was just as inviting as upstairs, providing a serene retreat amidst the bustling café atmosphere. We took our time to appreciate the thoughtful design and enjoyed the tranquility of the surroundings.
