Many actions are considered rational and irrational for example it is rational to use land for sowing or rationally cut fabric or wood to further cut out details with a minimum amount of residue.
It is irrational to dig a hole in order to pour soil into it from a hole that we are digging nearby or it is irrational to push a huge spherical stone uphill it is irrational to help your friend get off the tree by suggesting that he tie a rope around his waist and you for your part pull the rope hard and your friend will instantly get off the tree.
But sometimes it is very difficult to determine whether our action was rational or irrational.
For example our trip to the forest for mushrooms can be attributed to such a case.
At first we torment ourselves by waking up like dawn.
We spend money on a public transport ticket or on gasoline and drive many kilometers with the goal of getting into the forest as early as possible.
Once in the forest we walk tens of kilometers in search of mushrooms, brushing off mosquitoes and midges removing sticky cobwebs from ourselves and risking getting to know the tick closely.
In the end we find only a few small mushrooms and in the light of this our actions should be regarded by us as irrational but no we are happy and proudly return home to tell our loved ones about our adventures and this is the most wonderful irrationality in the world.
