Hardly anyone likes thistles. But if you look closely, you don’t see a spiny weed, but a beautiful work of art of nature!

Insects love thistles.

I love this thistle, the color is super nice and the bumblebees, butterflies love it too.

Artichokes also belong to the group of thistles. The name comes from Arabic and is derived from "al-churchufa" (edible plant) or "ardi-schauki" (earth thistle)

Even outside of its heyday it is visually an asset. It is an expressive sight in winter when the frost is a guest. Then it looks like an icy sculpture.
