Lesson-3: The concept of citizenship and citizenship.
In Pastor, a permanent resident is called a citizen. In the past, people living in the city were called citizens. At that time the state was formed around small towns. The inhabitants of this city-state were considered citizens.
But now the concept of citizenship and citizenship has also changed. Now any person as a member of the state can be considered a citizen. The citizen will be a permanent resident of the state, will be loyal to the state, will think of the welfare of the state and will enjoy all the social and political benefits provided by the state. That is, a citizen of the state has such a side. Social and political rights, on the other hand, have their responsibilities and duties towards the state.
A citizen gets citizenship in the identity of the state. As citizens of Bangladesh, the identity of all our citizens is Bangladeshi. Our state is Bangladesh. That is why we are citizens of Bangladesh.
Citizens and foreigners
Many people from different countries live in a state apart from their own country. They stay for various reasons like education, business, trade, job etc. These are known as foreigners. However, they do not live permanently. The state in which foreigners live is not loyal to the state. Not only do they enjoy social rights within the state they live in, but they do not enjoy any political rights in the government or state of the country they live abroad. So foreigners are not citizens of the state.
