A Visit to Shingimari Hat | Traditional Hat in Bangladesh

in CCH10 months ago

Rural-Bengali hats represent the economy, mutual exchange, and tradition. Village hats show the image of rural people's life. Two days a week, these markets are organized in an open place in the village, where many agricultural products, blacksmith's products, bamboo or clay products, etc. can be bought. Most people in our country live in villages. And for the purchase and sale of various products by these people, a market is organized on the side of a village road, canal, or river. We have several hats in and around Parbatipur. Today I am going to share with you some pictures of Singimari Hat which is located very close to Parbatipur.

Singimari Hat is located 6.2 km from our area. This hat is organized next to Singimari Government Primary School. Never been to Singimari Hat before. Originally I was going with a friend to hang out at a beautiful natural place very close to Singimaree. It was not known that the Thursday market is organized here. On the way, we came across a hut and halted there hoping to get some snacks. Right next to the road, we found a shop selling Jillapi and Piazzi. We bought some Jillapi and Piazzi from this hut.

Although the scope of this hat was small, it looked quite beautiful. There are very few such stalls on the side streets of primary schools. This place is not densely populated, but several houses are scattered around it. They are probably located in different villages. The village haats are located exactly where the people of two or three nearby villages get the opportunity to buy and sell various vegetables and daily necessities. It is through such markets that the people of the village get to know each other.

Products can be purchased at very low prices in such markets. Many people from the city also come to the market to market. A variety of permanent and temporary shops can be seen in the haat, these shops stock a wide range of traditional items of the village. In one part of the market, there are vegetable shops, in one part there are various items made by blacksmiths and potters, besides there are carpet shops, various dry food shops, and fish markets. A century-old banyan tree can be seen along with these shops.

These hats of Rual-Bangla are intimately connected with the rural economy. A hat is a gathering place that has been intertwined with Bengali existence for ages. Village bazaars are the lifeblood of the economy and a popular means of social interaction in rural life. The bazaar is intimately connected with Bengali public life. The role of the haat is also immense as an intermediary for the authentic products of the village to reach different parts of the city.
