Hello Preets! Your article on the tradition of Kua Pujan in India is an interesting one. I guess maybe because we cannot do without water, that's the reason your wells are worshipped. Water is essential to survival of all living beings and a part of nature.

In Nigeria, most of our wells are still very functional and we fetch from them sometimes when the boreholes breakdown. But this is rarely.

Yes this traditon of Kua pujan is considered very important in the events of of birth and wedding. It is a pity that we are forgetting the reasons behind such traditions. The message is simple that we should live consciously while using the natural resources.
