On our last night in Bolinao, the people there has prepared a party and it was like a feast. They prepared a lot of foods, but there's something very distinct among the foods prepared. It's Binungey which can be seen in the pictures.
I remember when I was younger, someone will give us binungey. Though it's not as good as it was then, but at least I got to taste it again after many years. So there they prepared a lot.
Binungey is made of glutinous rice along with coconut milk, and put in tubes of bamboo. They'll cook it on fire especially form the wood. The smoky flavor adds up to its creamy taste. There's a caramel syrup serving as a dip or brown sugar. Yum!
