What is your opinion on how the coding is going on the blockchain itself?

I love @blocktrades and his teams attention to focusing on scaling. I think this is absolutely critical to future growth, the technical demand for running a blockchain like Hive is insane. Our block log file is over 300GB and Hivemind exceeds 1 TB and growing quickly. Prior to Mira (and now the focus on pushing more to Hivemind) we had a 512GB Ram requirement, this is beyond what most servers are capable making it extremely difficult to sustain. This was reduced to 256GB and the focus on Hivemind reduced this further to less than 64 GB. This isn't sexy coding and doesn't provide cool things like SMTs and improved communities but is critical to maintaining Hive over the next few years.

Do you like what is being done? Are there some things that you feel are missing or being overlooked?

Yes, I'd love it to be faster like everyone else. It's not like we have millions of dollars budget for hiring devs though. I'd love to see native first layer tokens and smart contracts as I think these would open up a lot of opportunities for Hive. It seems like others are coming to this conclusion as well.
