This is such an important topic, as caring for the elderly with mental detoriation can be daunting. It's sad to see cases of such patients being abused by carers in car homes, but it it most times the best option for patients, as they can get the professional care needed:)

Greetings my friend, there are many unfortunate people who do not have the support of a family member to take care of them, as you say, it is very sad. This is the objective of these conferences, to raise awareness, and for people to know how to treat older adults.
