Orthetrum sabina

Humans are constantly inventing technology and looking for drugs to repel mosquitoes, but in fact nature has provided natural predators to repel these blood-sucking insects. The predator has transparent wings with a head dominated by large round eyes. The name of the predator is dragonfly, which lives in habitats that have clean water resources.

One day, I found a large dragonfly with a green color. The dragonfly flies between the grass and the walls of the house, looking for mosquitoes that stray during the day.

Later I found out about this type of dragonfly, its name is Orthetrum sabina.

Orthetrum sabina, the slender skimmeror green marsh hawk, is a species of dragonfly in the family Libellulidae. It is widespread, being found from south-eastern Europe and North Africa to Japan and south to Australia and Micronesia.

As it is, this insect is not annoying like mosquitoes or flies, nor does it contaminate, much less harm humans. I remember when I was a child, Venezuelan families had a very strange custom: Every time a dragonfly entered the house, the adults would say that it was a visitor and that we had to clean the house. It's as if the insect came to say ''hey, tomorrow they're coming to visit you, clean this garbage!'' or something. Jajajaa

Thanks for sharing these excellent images my friend, a hug.

Yes, we also have a strange habit about the arrival of butterflies into a house (not dragonflies), then there will be guests who come. Each region has local wisdom as you described.

I'm glad you like the photos above. Thank you for your support @pavanjr
