What might be observed in the trees? Of course there are many things, including the bark, the outer layer of the stems and roots of woody plants. The bark is actually all the tissue outside the vascular cambium, whether it is living tissue or dead tissue. The living tissue is the inner bark, and the dead tissue is the bark on the surface of the stems.
Trying to pay attention to the bark is surprisingly fun and exciting. It had a unique variety of textures, was cracked, and something looked like it was about to peel off. The colors of the bark also look different from one tree to another. Apart from that, some other things are also interesting to observe such as the direction of the grain, knots, and the so-called burl which produces such a distinctive and high patterned wood that specimens of the burl are highly sought after in carpentry.
