Dicen por ahí, que ha sido un regalo de los egipcios a España en 1968 tras la construcción de la represa Asuán para evitar su inundación. Otros dicen que servía para realizar ritos con el sol y asi mantener el orden cósmico, Incluso que el rey Adijalamai de Meroi lo mandó a construir en honor a los dioses Amón (Dios de la creación) y la diosa Isis (Diosa de la muerte). Sea cual sea su significado está ubicado en el cuartel de la Montaña a pocos metros de la Plaza de España en Madrid y es el lugar perfecto para admirar los atardeceres, apreciar la extraordinaria arquitectura y cultura egipcia.

Es uno de los únicos 4 templos que se levantan fuera del Nilo. Increíblemente Los Madrileños saben muchísimo sobre esta construcción egipcia, tanto que con los años han optado a votación para cubrirlo de las lluvias y cambios climáticos que puedan estar deteriorando este monumento con más de 2.000 años.
El templo de Debob se encontraba en Sudán en el alto Egipto y Para trasladarlo a Madrid a eso de los años 70, se desmontó piedra por piedra y se volvieron a montar en el cuartel el cual fue destruido por la guerra civil, todo esto para evitar que la Crecida del Río Nilo amenazara la desaparición de tal monumento, esta fue la manera de agradecimiento a España por tal ayuda.
It is one of only 4 temples that stand outside the Nile. Incredibly, the Madrileños know a lot about this Egyptian construction, so much so that over the years they have chosen to vote to cover it from the rains and climatic changes that may be deteriorating this monument with more than 2,000 years.
The temple of Debob was located in Sudan in upper Egypt and to move it to Madrid in the 70's, was dismantled stone by stone and reassembled in the barracks which was destroyed by the civil war, all this to prevent the flooding of the Nile River threatened the disappearance of such a monument, this was the way to thank Spain for such help.
El estanque al rededor del templo simula el Río Nilo y hace un contraste precioso cada atardecer ya que el sol refleja los colores del cielo en el estanque y no solo eso, que tiene una vista a la Ciudad increíble, tanto que se ha vuelto un lugar muy concurrido por los turistas e incluso los mismos habitantes. Es un lugar fijo si visitas la Ciudad, no te va a decepcionar.
The pond around the temple simulates the Nile River and makes a beautiful contrast every sunset as the sun reflects the colors of the sky in the pond and not only that, it has an incredible view of the city, so much so that it has become a very popular place for tourists and even the inhabitants themselves. It is a fixed place if you visit the city, you will not be disappointed.
