My computers are paramount to my success, so I have off-site backups, on-site backups, and some spare parts in the wings mostly RAM, SSD, Video Cards. I can't have a computer down situation for longer than a few hours otherwise I start losing money.
Back in 2016 I had just quit Walmart and was 100% self-employed and my Windows 10 tower went down for the count, plus my last backup was corrupt did not have offsite backups at the time. I did not have a lot of money for a replacement. Voltage spike took out the Power Supply, Motherboard, ram, and video card tested with unreliable results. Went to GoodWill Lucky enough to find a 2009 Mac Pro Tower, with a few upgrades I was back in business.
When your computer starts generating income for you it is time to invest in redundancies.
