Vologda also has a Kremlin, as in many other cities, including, of course, Moscow. This is the oldest defensive and fortifying structure, which was built in the time of Tsar Ivan the Terrible.

Now the Kremlin, perhaps not quite rightfully, is called the architectural ensemble of the Cathedral Courtyard.

And there is a park with a lake nearby.

Willows and birches grow in the park. Water with reflections, textured trunks and graceful branches – all this plays with completely different colors when the lights are turned on at night!

I will never stop loving willow in an urban environment and will always dislike it in nature.

I was delighted with this place when I saw it for the first time many years ago.

And now that I have explored all corners of the city, the Kremlin Garden has become my favorite place.

This is one of the oldest parks in Vologda.

During the day, you can ride a catamaran or a boat here, but I prefer deserted streets.

Another world opens up in the dark gloom.
