Mezhdurechye. Sheibukhta

While traveling around the Mezhdurechensky district of the Vologda region, I clearly began to feel what I had been studying and confirming for many years – the atmosphere of the place and its interest. I have already traveled to almost all major settlements, of which there are not so many, and in some places it is interesting, and in others it is not at all.

I was in Sheibukhta for the first time and this place immediately sunk into my heart!

The frost was even worse than last time: it was -26 on the dashboard in the car.

Sheibukhta is named after the forest river of the same name, which means quiet mud in Finno-Ugric.

And if there is a river, then there are height differences!

The village is divided into two parts, where, according to tradition, one of the parts is old, the other is from the Soviet period.

In the Soviet part of Sheibukhta there is a brick apartment building, as well as barracks for two apartments with one floor.

The most interesting part is always the old one, where huts are still preserved, sometimes five-walled with balconies or a mezzanine.

A frosty night gives some special shades to the picture, and the creeping smoke from the chimneys enhances the whole atmosphere.

It's just a fairy tale! These are probably the best pictures of all trips to these parts.

And all because the place is cozy. And it's cozy because everything worked out well and I won't get tired of repeating these criteria: height difference, chaotic buildings, ancient architecture, a water body (from which the height difference and chaotic buildings flow (not literally)).

I wouldn't mind going down here in the summer!

Sheibukhta is the best place of the whole winter this year!
