Mezhdurechye. Staroye

The Mezhdurechensky district of the Vologda region is a kind of bearish corner of the region: there are no federal highways, poorly developed infrastructure, few settlements, and this area is located on the border with the Kostroma region, which is also a wilderness.

I came here very little, both for work and for myself to take pictures. There are no cellars here, but, as it turned out, there are very interesting old places.

This is where I went to capture a real winter in a real village.

The village of Staroe, like all more or less large villages in Mezhdurechye, has a small river, a church, a height difference and old houses.

Winter is generally the quietest, even the dead season. In spring and summer, the space is filled with sounds, among which you can get lost and become invisible.

But now there is such a contrast between the absolute silence and the crunching of snow underfoot that it seems as if the whole village hears this screaming crunch!

Fortunately, I didn't disturb anyone this time.

It's not the first time I've noticed that on a frosty, clear night there's a completely different shade color, snow color, and generally a completely different picture.

...It's a strange and unusual feeling for me – I want to go back to February with its frosts and snows, and capture as many places as possible!

Staroye is very cozy. I was here once, I passed by and also in winter...but I drove through this place, not walked through it, so it's completely new to me.

There are also two panel apartment buildings here, but why would I need them if most of them have an ancient atmosphere.

I'm sure there will be more frosty starry nights, and I already know which places I will continue to explore.

While I was on the wave of dugouts for many years, I didn't want to come here.

I have said more than once that the Gryazovets and Mezhdurechye sides are like dead, faceless ones for me.

Maybe on that frequency, but right now I'm not on the cellar frequency, so I'm interested in a very wide range of places.

And very close by, a couple of kilometers away, there is another amazing place...
