The first foliage

The first greenery of the year does not appear on the ground, but on the trees. Foliage appears before the grass. And I, according to tradition, photograph the first truly spring natural manifestations.

I need a new approach to photographing leaves and buds.

By the way, this also applies to the autumn period.

I started trying out new things, like adding blurry highlights to the background.

I already implemented foreground defocus last year.

For a good shot with a twig and leaves, you need: a composition, an unusual background and an interesting combination of colors.

I walk around one tree for a long time and take a closer look at the angles of the light and the background.

The bunches of young leaves illuminated by the sun look good on a dark background.

Also, young shoots are not green at all.

You can try to combine this with some kind of minimalistic technique.

All compositional techniques work here as well as in other genres.

The rhythm will also read and work well.

Even in such a seemingly very simple and mundane topic, you need to be creative...
