It is, without a doubt, one of the most brilliant and meritorious jewels of that so-called 'art of Christianity', that is, the Romanesque, in one of the most picturesque and varied Communities that make up an essential part of the Castilian Plateau and also, in addition, one of the hardest, but, at the same time, most interesting sections of that Way of the Stars, which, under the guidance and sponsorship of the Big Dipper, has been directing for more than a year. millennium, to all those who, with a bundle on their shoulders and in imitation of that metaphorical Perceval, who is also, in his own way, the Major Arcana of the Tarot, known as the Fool, walks, God and Providence through, towards that Axis Mundi of the pilgrimage, which is Santiago de Compostela.

Its cover, dominated by the omnipotent presence of Christ in Majesty flanked by the consubstantial company of the Twelve Apostles, including Iude or Judas, turns out to be a sculptural poem, whose harmony does not go unnoticed and which, together with the great variety of archetypes that constitute the rest of the sculptures, distributed in corbels and capitals, continue to be, regardless of the occasional grievances committed by time and by men, a thesis, both psychological and anthropological, of a way of thinking and living, which defines, in essence, that world, undoubtedly fascinating, which we describe as medieval.

Se trata, sin ninguna duda, de una de las joyas más brillantes y meritorias de aquél bien denominado ‘arte de la Cristiandad’, es decir, el Románico, en una de las Comunidades más pintorescas y variopintas de las que conforman una parte esencial de la Meseta castellana y además, por añadidura, uno de los tramos más duros, pero, a la vez, más interesantes de ese Camino de las Estrellas, que, bajo la guía y madrinazgo de la Osa Mayor, dirige, desde hace más de un milenio, a todos aquellos, que, hatillo al hombro y a imitación de ese metafórico Perceval, que es, también, a su manera, el Arcano Mayor del Tarot, conocido como el Loco, camina, Dios y la Providencia mediante, hacia ese Axis Mundi de la peregrinación, que es Santiago de Compostela.

Su portada, dominada por la presencia omnipotente de un Cristo en Majestad flanqueado por la compañía consustancial de los Doce Apóstoles, incluido Iude o Judas, resulta todo un poema escultórico, cuya armonía no pasa desapercibida y que unida a la gran variedad de arquetipos que constituyen el resto de esculturas, distribuidas en canecillos y capiteles, continúa siendo, independientemente de los ocasionales agravios realizados por el tiempo y por los hombres, toda una tesis, tanto psicológica como antropológica, de una manera de pensar y de vivir, que define, en esencia, ese mundo, sin duda fascinante, al que calificamos de medieval.
