That's a modern addition. In the past, when at the time these temples were built, clocks did not exist or did not exist, at least, as we know them, they used the so-called 'sundials': they drew a circle on the wall, with a central point, in the They placed a simple stick and by the shadow it cast on the wall, they knew what time of day they were.
