This is Iba.
He is part of the Huni Kuin tribe in northern Brazil who live in harmony with the rainforest.
He came straight from his home to do an ayahuasca ceremony in a retreat center in lake Atitlán. He was brought over to the studio by my friends Mathías and Jo to record the songs they sing during the medicinal ceremony.
We asked if we could make a video of one of his songs and he agreed. This video is a gift from Iba to us.
Iba's "band" so to speak is called Txana Inuba Ke
This song is called Hatiyae Kaya Tibu
Iba was kind enough to write all of the song names for us.
I have not participated in the medicinal ceremony myself, but I definitely felt the calling after this session.
Iba will be back around March and I will set time aside to do the ceremony with him.
