Harvest Bee Venom

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

After being asked several times if I could also do my bee venom post in English, I decided to at least produce the bee venom harvest in English. The post about the application of bee venom is no problem with the AI translation tool from PeakD and can be translated into the appropriate language there at any time.

In this video here, I show in English how to collect bee venom with a Bee Venom Collector device and what to consider when doing so.

Brief overview:

Bee venom, medically known as apitoxin and part of the Apitherapy, is the venom of honey bees, a mixture of different secretions. It is injected into the enemy when stinging with the venomous stinger. A honey bee can inject approx. 0.1 mg of venom, i.e. 10,000 bee stings yield approx. 1 g of bee venom. Bee venom is acidic and has a yellowish-opalescent colour.

Bee venom is collected during the active season from April to July. Between 0.2 g and 1 g of bee venom can be collected per day from a beehive using the electric wire trapping method. The best time of day to collect bee venom is early morning, 1-2 hours before the bees fly out. The collection of bee venom takes 5-20 minutes per day. The amount of venom also depends on the age of the bee and not least on the pollen supply of the bee colony.

Enjoy the video and stay BeeSmart.
