Im really keen to grow reishi - I think the reason I haven't is that I need time to sit down with it all and study how it works. I feel everything I do in my life is a bit slap happy, let's hope it works kinda thing, but mushrooms (and bees, for that matter) take a bit more care than that. Perhaps when I quit work next year I'll have more time to sit with Youtube and mushrooms spores and ponder.

I had actually only recently looked at oyster shroom kits. Once the house is finished I can start to look at these type of things. For now its work and enjoy watching other people do cool shit.

The cotton acts as a filter and lets fresh air in while keeping bad shit out.

Ya. If it wasn't vented, then mold would grow in it and we only want to good shrooms growing.
