That’s fascinating, and yes, as a vegetarian 🌱, I’m a supporter. A plant-based diet is so much better for you - this is not a vegan punt! LoL. It’s just that it’s so easy to eliminate animal products in favor of veggies. However, there’s more to it than that...you have to eliminate PROCESSED FOODS as well, if you’re after health, which we all should be. I’m guilty of soda-sin, I love Coca-Cola, bad, bad, horrible. I also enjoy fried foods, but I’m in the process of buying an air fryer.
One of the best things you can do for your gut is to drink ginger tea everyday. It’s immune boosting, does wonders for your circulation, is anti-inflammatory and downright healthy. Apart from that, try a good quality natural yoghurt and use it to replace cream, especially in cooking. A glass of red wine is also good, and it’s so much fun to add to your repertoire of healthy have-tos. Haha.

Oh, and yes to your point on cutting out processed foods and refined sugar. It gets easier as your taste buds change. I've been increasing my plant diversity and my taste buds are adjusting quite quickly.
