The bikes here are certainly high quality, all used Dutch imports, although new and cheaper Chinese bikes are definitely coming into the country. Now if only I could speak proper Dutch instead of mixing English, Dutch, and Sranang, and Spanish to make myself understood.
We get the sense people are really proud of their private property regardless of whether or not they make use of the land they have. We realize people like to keep their distance here, and social living is not part of the culture here. This does however make public fruitpicking a little easier because there are less eyes.
