I love to read posts from other countries. Indonesia is close to my own country, Australia, so I really love to read about natural medicine from there. Even though I don't speak Indonesia, I love to learn a few words. I also think it's important to write content in YOUR language.

As an OCD and Natural Medicine curator, I have to be able to read your posts. All big curators (including whales) need to be able to read your content, and the fact is, most of them are looking at posts in English. There are THREE OCD curators looking for good #naturalmedicine #lotusindonesia content to nominate for OCD votes - and we are looking for GOOD DUAL LANGUAGE or ENGLISH posts only.

Of course, many of us have a browser extension like Google Translate or DEEPL to help us, but that takes time, and most curation projects have an English only rule.

For the best chance to be curated, you have to either write in English, or dual language.

Don't worry if your English isn't PERFECT. We don't mind. We just like clear, original, interesting and well formatted content!

Writing only In English

I have to say that I like this the best. I find it more clear and easy to read. Try using Google Translate, but if you have some English, re-read to make sure it makes sense.

Side by side English/Indonesian

This is quite good on laptops but can be hard to read on mobile phones. The Lotus Indonesia curation posts are side by side Indo/Eng, like this (thanks @ericha for a great post).

To do this, use the following code:

<div class="pull-right">
YOUR TEXT HERE
</div>

English First, Then Indonesian

This is my favourite. I can simply read the English, then move to the Indonesian. I really don't like it if it's a little bit Indo, a little bit English, then back again. It makes my head hurt!

I don't mind if the writing is formatted so it's super clear. For example, the English could be in bold and the Indonesian could be in small letters. That makes it easy for my eye to move quickly between the two. Here's what I mean:

If you'd like to make letters small, use this code: put text here

If you'd like to make letters bigger (headings), read this post.

Titles

Titles can get REALLY long if it's in both languages. I think it's quite nice if the heading is in English, and the thumbnail is in Indonesian, or both, like below:

What do you think? Which way do you like to present your Eng/Indo posts?

Remember, it's important to write clearly so curators notice you, and that's more likely if your English is clearly presented.

Bagaimana menurut anda?
