Lotus is a social token for the Natural Medicine community. This post will run you through a few basic 'how to's', specifically to update 'newbies' on what it's all about!

That's right, we have our own front end. This is mainly to help the wellness people find their way to HIVE by being curious about this beautiful looking front end!
You use your HIVE keys to log on - you don't need a separate account.
I love using this site when I'm curating #naturalmedicine posts specifically. You can see how much LOTUS you are earning on each post, and how much you've got in your wallet. Tokens are automatically claimed.
Just like HIVE, the more LOTUS you have powered up (or staked) the more you can earn through curation.
Burning Lotus
You might have heard of 'burning' Lotus. This means you send it to an account with no keys called @null, which means it's lost forever! This helps reduce the supply. The less in supply, the more it may be in demand, in theory. So we ask you to burn LOTUS for the challenges to help that happen.
Buying and Burning LOTUS
Buying LOTUS is easy through Hive.Engine, which you can access through your PEAKD Wallet or by clicking on this link:
That'll take you straight to the market. You'll have to sign in with your active key, of course.
- Click on 'deposit' - you need to have some HIVE to buy LOTUS with.
- Deposit your HIVE
- Click on 'tokens' and find LOTUS. Click on the two little arrows which will take you to the MARKET.
- Fill in the boxes - at the time of writing, 100 LOTUS is worth .045 HIVE. Simply put the asking price in the top box, 100 LOTUS in the second - and voila, the final price appears in the last box.
- To send to @null, you can send via your wallet, using the arrow and following the instructions.
- Alternatively, you can send LOTUS to @null via PEAKD as you may already have some LOTUS in your wallet. Click on the red 'hive engine' wallet, find LOTUS and click the SEND button. Too easy!
How To Earn LOTUS
- Have it staked or powered up
- Upvote others who have LOTUS staked and use the #naturalmedicine tag - curate, curate, curate
- Enter competitions
- Write great #naturalmedicine content
- Delegators who post #naturalmedicine content from www.naturalmedicine.io automatically recieved a small amount of LOTUS on their posts.

No, we aren't on Steem anymore @bearone! In fact, if we post there we get massively downvoted by a whale. Steem engine is redundant for us - we are full steam HIVE. xx
