One of the biggest reasons were left England, right here!
The year before we left (2007), we had a summer of nearly solid rain. It had just started warming up in spring, then the clouds came in and stayed. Instead of getting warmer, it just got colder and rained nearly every day for 3 months. It was August before we saw the sun again and that was for a few days before autumn was upon us. Then just as it was warming up for summer the following year we came here in time for winter. It was like having two solid years of winter! We were so relived when spring cane in September and it was like midsummer in England.

Oh goodness cold and rain for 3 months, I would have been so sad. I can’t imagine going through 2 years of winter. So glad you can enjoy the warmth and sunny weather now. 😎
