Each Tuesday we at Natural Medicine like to highlight articles that promote Mindfulness, share one's own insights acquired through being Mindful or bring to our(everyone's) attention the Mindful actions or practices of others.

Many simply glance over such terms scrolling past, feeling the #mindfullife movement is just another New Age fad, but this is hardly the case. It's unfortunate that a search for the term Mindfulness brings results at the top explaining it as being bound to a specific method of meditation and being aware of only YOUR OWN emotions, surroundings and being in the present, YOUR OWN present.

This is only a small part of what Mindfulness really is. The above definition is a very niche one, when it's really as broad as the individual perspectives that have ever existed.

Mindfulness isn't just about YOU, it's about being mindful of how your actions effect others, aware of their perspective AND being aware of how things affect you. Being Mindful simply requires you to be attentive, receptive and in control of your thoughts, actions and the effect those have on yourself, others and environment.

Those top search results also link Mindfulness directly to meditation. While being mindful is a form of meditation, it's not meditation in the traditional sense, though traditional meditation can certainly help you to develop being Mindful into a habit. It's only one method of many.

All one needs to do is slow down, take it all in and think before you act.

So, Mindfulness isn't just for Buddhists, Yogis or New Agers. It's for everyone that wants to get the most out of life, live it on their own terms and do so in the most positive way possible. Today I'm going to share a few articles from fellow members of The Swarm that do just that.

This past Sunday was Mother's Day, that special day set aside to remember and show appreciation for your mother. Though we sometimes need these traditions as reminders to take the time to show the special someone's in our lives we appreciate them, we should most definitely do so more often, because you never know what will happen tomorrow.divider.fw.png

This is the message @fmbs25 shares, with some very heartfelt examples, very human examples. Our lives are finite and so are those of our loved ones. Because we are not guaranteed a tomorrow with our loved ones or them with us, it helps to be Mindful of this to show your love and appreciation for them each day.

If you haven't already, please visit @fmbs25's heartfelt reminder in her article, "Mindful Monday: About Mother's Day - Today we're here, tomorrow we don't know! [EN] // A propósito del día de las Madres - ¡Hoy estamos, mañana no sabemos! [ES]

@vincentnijman is a very aware human being, or at the very least, goes out of his way to try and be one. He loves to get outside, walk daily and take the life around him in as he defrags the brain. He even has a simple ritual that ensures this special time will not be spoiled by today's technology.

I could just tell you, but I'll let you read his article to find out. That's not the topic of Vincent's latest blog though. In his conscious act of practicing Mindfulness, he noticed another's colorful attempt to remind and motivate others to slow down and appreciate the beauty of this world.

Vincent is currently in the Netherlands, so the message isn't in English, which is great. We not only get to share in a random act to promote #positivevibes and #mindfulness, but a sample of a different culture and language as well. He of course translates for us.

I highly recommend you visit his blog and give his article, If Trees Could Talk - Mindful Street Art a read.

@solinvinctus7125 is inviting everyone to join them for 21 days and,

The 'Journey' follows a program developed by Deepak Chapra and lasts for 21days. If you would like to join in, @riverflows created a channel dedicated to this journey in the Natural Medicine Discord, where everyone along on this journey can share and collaborate.

All the information is located in the original invitation, "21 Days of Abundance: Day 0 and Day 1 and the Discord invite is at the bottom of this article. Day-4 has been published as well.

If you like mind exercises in the structure of a group setting, please feel free to join in.

@marlenyaragua touches on so many points that she's gained through practicing Mindfulness. She speaks of love, gratitude, letting go and being mindful of the traces we leave behind. The range in this well thought out article goes from philosophy to reality to the importance of diet and it all comes back to love, the 5th element.

This very simple piece of advice speaks volumes and describes the tact that results from living mindfully.

The best thing we can do as human beings is for our actions to leave traces ... never scars

Stop by and show some love in return. Love, Grateful and Release ... by way of reflection

If you go out of your way to be mindful in your daily life and like to share those experiences or would like to work on becoming more mindful, make sure to add the tags #mindfullife and #mindfulness to your 'Favorites' in the Peakd Topics feed.

For each Curation article we publish, one of the authors showcased is added as a 5% beneficiary to the earnings. This week I'd like to share that with @vincentnijman.

Until next Tuesday, this was @notconvinced. I hope your days unfold on your terms.

"Being Aware of the Present Moment"... so important and oddly simple perhaps if we allow it. Simple perhaps even if not always easy.

Right, the busy schedules of today keep our minds busy on our next step, rather than the one we are currently taking. And...our current step is pretty much dictated by another's requirements, not our own.

I like the fact that you talked about Mindfulness as a New Age fad, not because I agree with it because of course it's a fad but that doesn't need to be taken as a bad thing but as a way to spread the word to much more open-minded people.

Also, while writing this, it came to me that, by calling it a fad, it makes me label myself as a true connoisseur of Mindfulness while others don't even know what they're doing, what a fools,
The work of the ego, impressive indeed!

Right, as with most anything and considering we are imperfect beings, many talk the walk and only a few truly walk the walk.

The nice thing about mindfulness is that keeping the term in ppls mind can strengthen it subconsciously. Also, by taking it out of the niche category by defining it more broadly while keeping it simple, more will start to give it a chance.

(...) many talk the walk and only a few truly walk the walk.

Beautiful quote! And so true!

Certainly meditation should be part of our life, very good publication, and congratulations to those authors!

Grateful for the mention ... I simply share with my readers my essence of life ...

@naturalmedicine, Mindfulness and Awareness is really important to awake ourselves and inturn we become our better versions. Stay blessed team.
