RE: Alternative Systems, Gardening and Community: A Conversation

in Natural Medicine4 years ago (edited)

I am truly SO happy you're finally home.
And I don't mean home just as the house, I feel home is the routine you recall so exquisitely and peacefully. Weeding, seeding, having a neighbor's chat and getting to meet your new family of hens.

I also experienced how much community get stronger in uncertainty. In Venezuela, when scarcity started back in 2014 I think, people will go to the neighbor's to ask for sugar, for a little bit of coffee or corn flour. Of course it wasn't THAT easy to realize that - there was a huge black cloud upon us and we were way too busy trying to survive. But it was there. I feel community is just an act of survival.
