Good advice! I too have been working on past traumas and I saw a good explanation of therapy that I really resonated with; perhaps you will too. Basically the idea is that when you go to therapy and dredge up all the old emotions and memories that you were suppressing, some people might look at you and say, well that isn't helping, you're MORE upset now! But it's like having a bottle full of silt and water. When you shake it up, all of it becomes clouded with the silt. But then with time, it settles. Only with therapy, you are processing the trauma/silt, so when it settles there will hopefully be a little less silt and more clear water.
