Oh gosh she must have been for and strong to make it that far. My Dad died at 78. She sounds like she knows her own mind, so you have to respect that as well as help her out. It's not a life for her if she's stopped doing what she wants to do. I hope she lives as long as she wants to and when the time comes you'll have the love and strength to let her go.

Yes, of course. Mom has been living with us since 2001, after my father's death.
My wife's mother lives 450 km away from us. We invited her to live with us in the village, but she won't go. She is also 86 years old. My wife's dad died 4 years ago. It was agreed that my mother-in-law would come to live next to us, but she refused. We understand her feeling, she has lived in one place all her life.
