Benefits of Soursop Plants (Annona muricata L.) for health

Hello Natural Medicine Lovers, Today I will share information about the benefits of soursop plants ( Annona muricata L.). This plant is also called jackfruit across / Dutch jackfruit. My grandmother said it was called Dutch jackfruit, because it was brought by the Dutch to be planted in Indonesia. Soursop is a plant that has many health benefits. The plant parts used for herbal medicine are the leaves and fruit. So that friends can get to know this plant better, the following are the classification and morphology of soursop plants.

PLANT MORPHOLOGY
While the morphology of soursop plants is :

Plant Stem
On the main stem of the soursop plant there are many small brown branches.

Plant Leaves
Soursop leaves that are still young are light green in color while the leaves that are getting old are dark green. Oval leaf shape with a tapered tip, pinnate leaf bones and shiny leaves, sometimes there are hairy parts of the leaves.

Plant Flowers
Flowers Plants grow on the branches. Flowers have small petals and are yellow.

Plant Fruit
Soursop fruit contains soft spines located throughout the fruit body, the outer color of the fruit is dark green and the inside is white. Ripe fruit has a soft texture with a slightly sour fruit taste.

Plant Seeds
The seeds of the soursop fruit plant are scattered in the white flesh of the fruit. The seeds are light brown when the fruit is young, but when the fruit is old and ripe, the seeds are black.

The root of the plant is a taproot with a brown color.

PLANT BENEFITS

Soursop plant parts commonly used as herbs are the leaves and fruit. Soursop leaves contain flavonoid compounds and tannins. Soursop leaves have long been known as herbal medicine to treat various diseases, such as overcoming cancer, overcoming insomnia, overcoming rheumatism, lowering cholesterol levels and treating gout.

Soursop leaves also contain antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory compounds.

While the ripe fruit is usually made into fresh juice. The fruit is rich in vitamin C which is useful as a canker sore and also overcomes various digestive problems.

HOW TO PROCESS THE LEAVES AND FRUIT OF SOURSOP PLANTS.

The leaves of the soursop plant contain an unpleasant odor, but it has been proven to be effective in dealing with various health problems, even my uncle, who suffers from gout, often uses soursop leaves to treat his gout. The ingredients used to process soursop leaves are:

10-15 soursop leaves that are not too old and not too young
2 cups of water (usually we always use a glass measure or about 800 mL)

How to make a concoction of soursop leaves
1.Wash the soursop leaves until clean, use running water, then put it in the pot.

2.Add water to the pot.

3.Boil over medium heat, boil until the volume of water reduces by half or about 1 cup (400 mL).

4.After the amount of water is reduced to half, then strain.

Enjoy soursop leaf tea while warm, the effect that arises after drinking this concoction is sweating. To treat gout, cholesterol and rheumatism, drink one glass of this concoction for 3 weeks or until healed.

Meanwhile, to make soursop fruit juice, the ingredients we use are:

400 grams of soursop fruit
750 mL of ice water
2 tablespoons of sugar (the taste of the fruit is a little sour so I added sugar to be safe for the stomach)

How to make juice from soursop fruit is:

1.Choose ripe soursop fruit by massaging the fruit, if the fruit feels soft, it means the fruit is ripe.

2.Split the soursop fruit, remove the liver / bone contained in the fruit.

3.Remove the seeds contained in the flesh, the seeds are black.

4.Now I will process the flesh of the fruit that has been seeded, put the flesh of the soursop without the seeds into the blender.

5.Add sugar to the blender.

6.Add ice water to the blender, then blend until all the ingredients are well blended and become smooth.

7.Pour soursop juice into a serving glass, enjoy while fresh.

We make this earlier because our godmother gave some soursop so i made a smoothie out of it.
